CONNECTICUT OPERA RESIDENT ARTIST AUDITIONS 
New York City - February 15 and 16
Hartford - March 24
Boston -April 6

Willie Anthony Waters, Artistic Director, announces auditions for the company’s 2008-2009 Resident Artist Program. Auditions will be held in New York City on February 15 and 16, 2008, in Hartford on March 24, and in Boston on April 6, 2008. Four singers will be engaged for the program: lyric soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor and baritone. An accompanist will be provided.

Singers will form the core of Connecticut Opera’s touring educational/outreach program, Opera Express. In addition, they will perform suitable comprimario roles in main stage productions, and understudy leading roles as deemed appropriate by the Artistic Director.

Artists must be available from September 2008 through May 2009. A weekly stipend will be paid. Candidates should have prepared at least five pieces of the following: standard repertoire in a foreign language, arias of varied styles (one must be in English), an appropriate American popular standard, and an operetta or musical theater selection. Please bring an audition repertoire list to the audition.

CONNECTICUT OPERA MAIN STAGE AUDITIONS 
New York City - February 7-9

Connecticut Opera, Hartford CT, Willie Anthony Waters, Artistic Director, will hold general auditions for the company's 2008-2009 season in New York City February 7-9, 2008 at DiCapo Opera Theater, 184 East 76th St., NY, NY 10021.

Repertory under consideration: Don Giovanni (Performances beginning November 2008), Daughter of the Regiment (Performances through mid-March 2009), La bohème (Peformances through the end of May 2009). The Bohème production will be set in Harlem. Singers of color are strongly encouraged to submit materials.

TOUR MANAGER / ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER

Connecticut Opera is seeking a Tour Manager for our 2008-2009 education & outreach program, Opera Express. The ideal person will have a background in stage management with some technical theatre experience. The Tour Manager will oversee the Opera Express program, including stage managing rehearsals and performances, be responsible for setup, strike, and maintenance of costumes, props & scenery, and maintain the activity calendar for Resident Artists, including scheduling rehearsal and coaching with CT Opera’s musical staff. Must have a valid driver’s license, be insurable and be comfortable driving a 15-passenger van with 20’ trailer in city & highway traffic. The Tour Manager may also serve as ASM for one or more of CT Opera’s mainstage productions, and will work with the Production Manager supporting our various programs and activities. Contract runs from late August to the end of May with a Christmas break. Competitive salary.
